HGV Class 2 Driver – Waste & Recycling Operations

The Role

We are seeking experienced and professional HGV Class 2 Drivers to join the Waste & Recycling team. This role involves operating a variety of vehicles across commercial and municipal contracts, ensuring the safe and efficient collection of waste and recycling streams.

The Duties

• Drivers will work across a range of vehicle types, including:
• RCV (Refuse Collection Vehicle)
• FEL (Front-End Loader)
• RORO (Roll-on Roll-off)
• Skip trucks
• Top loaders
• Delivery trucks

You will be responsible for collecting:

• General waste
• Recycling
• Food waste
• Glass
• Bulky items

Shifts & Hours

• Monday to Friday (early morning starts, typically 4–6am)
• Optional Saturdays depending on requirements
• Up to 48 hours per week, with overtime available

Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence (Category C / Class 2)
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph
• Minimum 1 year Class 2 driving experience (waste/recycling experience preferred)
• Ability to work safely, follow site rules, and manage time effectively
• Good communication and customer service skills

Pay & Benefits

• Basic salary: £42,120 per year
• OTE: £47,600+ with overtime
